Kahr "P9 Covert"

I was just reading about this new polymer Kahr. It has a shorter grip than the regular P9. It's only .5 in longer than the "MK9", same height, but much lighter. (Weighs about 15 ounces.) Has anyone seen or tried this little jewel out? This could be the Kahr I've been waiting for. (I NEED :) a 9MM.)

Hold out for the "MP9" it can't be far behind. Kahr seems to be working their way through their product line "P-izing" them.
 
Went and handled one this last week. For a 2 finger grip, it's not bad at all. It comes with an extended mag that you can get all 3 fingers on. It is light, and you can use it as a pocket pistol, though just a touch long. Very light. I didn't get a chance to shoot it, but I liked it. It had all the quality of a Kahr. In addition, it had the screw upgrade under the slimed down slide stop.

As far as the MP9 goes, it will be late next year. No actual release date yet.

It sure makes it hard to decide whether to get the P9 covert now, or wait on the MP9. MP9 should be a great little pistol.
 
It's a gem I'm sure. I made my own with a hacksaw and a full size P9 (before the coverts came out). I find it just as easy to shoot as when it had the full size grip. It's also a pocket gun now. It will actually fit in a pants pocket. Looks like you have a small paperback book in there but easy to overlook by people.

In my oooh so not humble opinion it is the best .380 or larger "pocket" gun.

The smaller grip length makes a huge difference in belt concealment too. It absolutely disapears under just a t-shirt. Nothing beats it yet.

JAM: I've been trying to hold out for the MP9 for a long time. Since I gave away my Glock 26, I need another 9MM. I'm oh so tempted to purchase another G26! A plus is that it perfectly fits my G27 holsters.
Ah, I'll try to hold out a little longer. However, it's difficult when there are so many posts that espouse the Kahrs.

I don't know about "espouse", my wife hasn't shot one. There sure are a lot of people that really like them though.
 
Fight the urge man...... the MP9 has GOTTA be out eventually... That half inch makes a BIG difference in the pocket.

According to Kahr, it'll be "late next year" before the MP9 is released. My guess is that they're waiting for the demand on the P9 covert to slow down, then they'll release the MP9.

They call it "marketing strategy". I call it Cruel !!
