Kahr P9 and Glock 36 really exist!

I handled both of them today. The P9 is very small and very simple. I think the slide is the same as the K series and the frame seems narrower and definitely lighter. Only complaint is the slide lock lever. It seems to stick out further than it has to...$509. The 36, as you know, is the same length and height as the 30 but a good bit narrower and holds 6+1. The guys in the store and a few other guys who looked at it didn't seem to care for it, but I fell in love. Nice grip and Glock pointable. No complaints. I think I found my .45... They were holding it for a customer who wanted to have the first one, but if he did not bite, I could have it. I've got my fingers crossed. $529...

Bought my Glock 36 yesterday. First one I've seen, but I told the gunshop owner when the 36 was first announced I wanted dibs. Couple years later, here we are!

Sweet pistol. 100 rounds yesterday, no problems.

Hawkman or anybody else who owns a 36, would you post pictures? I've seen them in gun rags but never one in person. I'm a big 1911 fanatic and always stayed away from Glocks due to the fat grips. I'm very curious about the 36. Hell, I might even be *ack* a converted Glocker ;) Then again, pink elephants might fly.

My gun range had a P9 for sale. It's stillthere. Kahr rushed to get a polymer to the market and it rattles loud when you shake it and it doesn't havce the fit and finish of its K9 and K40 line. If you want a Kahr, get an all metal one - they got those right. If you want polymer, get a Glock!

I have a Glock 29, and looking at the specs, I cannot see enough difference between the 29 and the 36 in size to justify rushing out to buy the 36. 10 rounds of 10mm with 15 round high caps beats the heck out of a 6 round 45.

i have not shot either pistol but i handled both today. i can not put my finger on what it was but the G 36 seemed too slim to me. of course that is what we asked for huh. it was like it was wider than it was thick. it did not have the hand filling grip and natural pointing ability of the other Glocks. on the upshot it looked like it would be easy to conceal. it was a lot flater than a 1911. the P9 felt like a BB pistol. i am in love with my K40. unless i miss my guess the K9 is too light to shoot well. i will make that decision when i shoot one. the trigger on the P9 was not as good as my standard K40. it seemed heavy and popped at the breaking point. plus the side stop was sticking out in mid air like it was an after thought. i was not impressed.

Will post some photos with my 23 and 27 for comparison when I get a minute. If you lay it over a 23, it is almost exactly the same size (length and height) if you include the mag extension on the 36. It is slightly narrower than the 23, but significantly slimmer than the 30. Nice package.

Has anyone actually shot one the G36s yet? I'd be very interested in finding out how it stacks up to the G30 in handling and accuracy. My wife has the G30, shoots it well and it is very accurate, however she has small hands and I'm thinking about the G36 for her(shes involved in all of this thinking BTW). We held one here in Va at Gilberts Small Arms Range yesterday, very trim and slim.

Used the desire to post pictures of the 36 as an excuse to buy a digital camera. IT DON'T WORK!!!!! grrrrrrr

I'll scan some in from a cheap polaroid :)
