Kahr P40 Covert

While surfing I noted that Kahr is shipping the new polymer
K40 with the same grip size as the MK40...fits MK and P leather...have not had to the range yet (just came in!...surprised no waiting list) closest to the perfect out of the box PD semiauto I have seen...might benefit from some work from C&S but that's optional. Fantastic work by Kahr.

Yeah, there's no waiting list cuz a lot of us are waiting for Kahr to shorten the Slide and Barrel again like they did with the K40 - K40Covert - MK40.

In other words.. "I WANT AN MP40 AND I WANT IT NOW!!!" :D (Did you hear that Michelle? (from Kahr))

But hey, if you like it, congrats on the new purchase! Shirokuma (here on TFL) had a P40 that he took a Hacksaw to, and made his own P40 Covert! For him, that was the difference between hating his P40 and loving is homemade covert!

Don't get me wrong, I've thought about it a time or two, but I'm just not that talented, and I ain't payin $350+ bucks for a custom shop to do it... so I'll just wait for the full factory chop job offering. Besides, the P40 covert is the worst of both worlds for me. Grip too short to be comfortable, but slide not short enough to be "the smallest/lightest semi-auto available".

Anyway, Glad it works for you!!! ;)

I would sure want to shoot one before I bought it. With a lightweight polymer frame I bet the P40 will twist yer wrist.

I have an MK 40 and I love it, but I also think it is the smallest pistol with the most power you can get. Any lighter and I wonder where your second shot will be.

Unless you have really strong wrists.

Went to the range today and with Silvertips the recoil was snappy but not painful. No malfunctions with 40 rounds, which was all the .40 I had with me leaving the two mags full. Yeah the wrist is a little sore but work has kept me so busy been a month since I've been to the range. If I was going to put a few hundred rounds through in a day would put some gloves on but in my climate I need a concealable .40 (the girlfriend keeps laughing at that word "need")...feel comfortable wearing the .40 all day in a crotch holster if I have to. If I was into radical chopping I would send the P9 off to Cylinder & Slide now that I have a spare Kahr.
I do admit after firing one of the MK's that had C&S's carry package done up its pricey but worth it. Factory could probably do it themselves but how high is the demand. Only demented gun nuts like me lol would go to such lengths to get the carry gun to the nth degree.
