Kahr "P" series update

After calling Kahr's technical dept. to ask a question about my K40, I asked them about the problems the "P" series guns have had.

They acknowledged the past problems and told me the new guns are "Every bit as good as the K/MK guns in every way"...they fixed the trigger pins walking out and a couple of other minor tweaks to the guns.....

The new guns have been in production for a while and according to Kahr, who have been very straight with me in the past, they are ready to rock and roll.....

Just thought it was worth the post....If youve been waiting or hesitant to buy one...nows your chance.
Shoot well

Might still wait on a PM9. The gun is little different from a P9 Covert and probably won't have any problems, but it gives me an excuse not to buy until the price drops back a little bit. Those things are going to be rare and expensive when they first hit.

Ditto here...........

I am zeroing in on the Kahr PM9 as my full-time 24/7 pocket carry piece and expect several months for the novelty and demand to wear off. I vividly remember the introduction of Kel-Tec's P32. I waited several months before one finally showed up in my favorite gun store and I promptly bought it.

Maybe someone can comment on this but "I've heard" that Kahr is now using Ruger as a subcontractor for supplying the polymer handles for the newer PM9. That sounds encouraging since most of Ruger's stuff is more durable than sophisticated.

I'm looking forward to personally inspecting/handling one of these and since I'm fairly well supplied gun-wise, I'm going to sit back, wait for the feedback, THEN make my move.

Is there some serial number that the newer, improved P9's start at, or any other indicator? The new guns may have been out a while, but that doesn't mean every dealer flushed their inventory. Also, when buying from an individual, I have no way of knowing when they really got a gun.

I think even the original problems may have been a bit overblown. The trigger pin in my P9 will indeed walk out slightly after a couple hundred rounds. I just push it back in with my thumbnail when I clean it. I probably should send it in to be fixed but I can't be bothered.
