Kahr Owners: recoil and ergonomic differences between K40 & P40?

I know the P40 is lighter and felt recoil will be greater, but wondering if someone can give me an idea of the practical difference. Any difference between full power 135 loads and full power 155 loads?

Anyone run their Kahr 40's over a chrony?

Only 40 that I have shot is a G27, a friends gun. Have also shot my Kel Tec P11. Plus 4" 357's & 44mags with Federal's castcore loads. Can handle recoil of all these, though I don't shoot the castcores DA.

Anyone use K40 or P40 in IDPA or other events? If so, did you feel the gun helped or hurt? I know P11 makes a nice carry gun except for width, but not the easiest to shoot well AND fast.
I am looking for something to replace the P11 nich, that is a bit more ergonomical/shootable than the P11.

I would say say the recoil is comparable to the G27. A little snappy but certainly not like a 357. Easy to shoot. I'm not sure it would be a ideal IDPA gun though. Longer trigger and lower mag capacity might hurt a bit.

One factor in this equation is the grip profile of the K40/9 vs the P40/9. The P guns have flat, narrower profiles, plastic versus rubber of the K's.

If you want to shoot IDPA, consider the K over the P. IMHO, the P gun is for carrying a lot and shooting a little, the K gun is better for extended shooting sessions. One of the best aspects of the Kahrs are the ergonomics of the rubber grips, you lose some of that with the polymer models, which may be a consideration in how well you shoot. So far, I have passed on the P's for that reason.

The K40 hasn't been a problem for carry, but I might be very tempted to pick up a MP40, or whatever they are calling the critter under development, for a light pocket gun for summer wear.

Good grief, sounds like a fashion magazine.
