Kahr or Glock

True cult status for both of these seemingly fine handguns. I can only have one (1). Would become by daily carry gun. So, which should it be, Kahr P9 or Glock 26, 19, 17, 34?

In my estimation the best Kahrs are not polymer so in essence you're kind of asking which fruit you want, apples or oranges.

For a carry gun I'm a big fan of the MK Kahrs (and as soon as I get all my pennies together there will be an MK40 in my pants...unless the wife really loves me and I find one in my stocking on Christmas).

Honestly can't go wrong with either.

Since you specified it would be your primary concealed carry pistol, I'd eliminate the 17 and 34 right off the bat as suitable candidates. Yes, they CAN be carried concealed but the other three choices are easier to conceal and therefore better suited for this role. My personal preferences would narrow it down even further to either the 19 or P9. I own both, so I didn't have to choose. :D It's a tough choice, but if you're limited to one and only one I'd give the nod to the 19. IMO the G19 is the most versatile self defense gun chambered in 9mm...

I think the Glock 19 is the best choice for the first gun to buy of those listed. The Kahr would be second and then the other Glocks on your list.

It's a difficult decision. The Kahr is easier to conceal but you give up alot of capacity. If you can conceal it then go with
the G19 (my favorite pistol), to big? Then go G26 (will take G17 and G19 hi-caps) and if you REALLY need a small gun then go for the Kahr.

I agree with Zundfolge...If you are going to buy the P series Kahr...you are going to but the worst of the bunch. The beauty of the Kahr is in the stainless steel frame. I handled a P-9 yesterday at the gunstore and it felt terrible in my hand. It is considerably thinner in the grip than the K series. I have a K-9 Elite 98 and think it is perhaps the finest semi-auto I have ever owned second only to my Kimber 1911. And that statement is coming from someone who has owned Glocks, HKs, Colts, Para Ordnance, Berettas, Sigs, S&Ws, and Rugers.

Had a Kahr P9. Unreliable - should have been called the POS9. Now have a G26. It's thicker, but it actually WORKS. (Search these forums and you'll find quite a few people have had problems with their polymer Kahrs.)

Dedicated daily CCW gun? I'd narrow it to Kahr K/MK-9 or G26/19.

Kahr slimmer, smaller, easier to pocket/ankle carry; Glock more bullets, leather, accessories.

From the Glock website:
The smaller size of the Glock 19 makes it an extremely attractive pistol to those searching for an effective concealed carry firearm.
I only quoted that because it's the only time I've seen "Glock" and "extremely attractive" used seriously in the same sentence. However, beautiful is as beautiful does.

The Glock's a little bigger than the Kahr, but I'd decide based on how they point for me. Everytime I pick up a Kahr, it points consistently. Glocks don't because, I presume, my grip varies slightly each time I pick one up.

The 9mm pistol that points consistently for me, has 11 rounds, and is smaller and lighter than either the Kahr or Glock is the KT P11.

My father recently picked up a P9 at my recommendation over a G26 because his hands are smaller than average. He is very happy with his choice and the gun is 100% reliable. The quality issues with the P9 have been worked out, but I can understand sour grapes from folks who bought earlier models. You should handle the P9, G19, and G26 and make your decision thus. I personally like the Glocks a little better, but my dad's P9 was very nice and I got excellent accuracy out of it. Its biggest selling point was its thinness and concealability. Preference for a thin gun over a slightly thicker one is entirely subjective and dependent on one's hands, grip, shooting style, and method of carry.
