Kahr MK9 Elite, How do you know?

The Elite 98 guns are polished stainless not matte and the engravings are laser etched. There is also a new Elite model (the Elite 2000) in a black polymer finish. The Elite's trigger pull is shorter than the regular Kahr pistols. I think that is a negative not a plus, in this kind of self-defense type of gun.

I have an MK9 and I can't imagine the trigger on the Elite model could be smoother. Shorter maybe, but smoother, no. I remember the first time I dry fired the MK9. I thought, man this is sweet. It felt like a very smooth DA revolver which was Kahr's intent.

I may be wrong but I think you can have the Elite trigger group put on the Matte finish. But as bad-dad-brad says, from the factory, the Elite 98 is more highly polished.

As I understand it, the pull is shorter. I have a regular MK40 and the trigger is excellent. I don't think I would want it any shorter or lighter. I might blow off a part of my anatomy that I am very fond of.

Why don't you E mail Kahr. they have always been quite helpful to me. www.kahr.com

'cause it says "elite 98" engraved into the slide ;)

Yes, you can get the elite trigger retrofitted to a non-elite model. I had them do that with my Kahr K40. But they charged $100 to do so -- not cheap.

IIRC the Elite trigger is an eighth of an inch shorter and is supposed to be a bit smoother than the regular model. I've only fired the Elite so I really have no basis for comparison but the Elite is sweet, for sure.

i updated my mk9 with the elite trigger. parts from kahr are about $50-55 incl shipping (trigger, spring, and plastic spacer).
different geometry results in a shorter stroke, slightly harder pull, and the trigger does not go as far back when the striker is released-almost like it slightly extends the trigger reach. makes the trigger seem crisper.
i am very pleased with mine.
the hardest thing about doing it yourself is pressing out the trigger pivot pin-it is a very tight fit in the frame. i reccomend not using a hammer and punch-use a small arbor press.
