Kahr MK40 w/Bellyband

I have an Action-Direct "Defender" in the larger size which fits my Steyr M40 quite well. However if Santa gets his shiznit together there will be a Kahr MK40 in my stocking this year (oh yeah...I gotta be a good boy too so that may blow the deal ;) ).

I'm wondering if I'll have to buy the smaller version of the Defender for the MK40 or if it's big enough to fit in the bigger one I already have.

Any you kids have an MK40 and a Defender?

Z,

What do you think of that "Defender"? Do you wear it everyday?
Is it really that comfortable? What position is your gun in?

Thanks!

I've not had it long (only a few weeks) but it is quite comfortable.

No I don't wear it every day (I live in Kansas so I don't carry a concealed handgun because it's illegal here ;) ) The longest period I had it on was about 7 hours, during that time I never left the house but I did mow the lawn and do some other light house work. Other then it getting a little sweaty it was fine.

I carry strong side at about the 4 o'clock position, but a few times I went out after dark to stop at the drive up ATM and Taco Bell so I carried it a little higher and on my weak (cross draw) side so it would be easer to get out while driving, I kind of liked it there.

The real test will be this next summer. The main reason I got it is because I wanted something I could wear while wearing shorts. Also its my only concealment holster (actualy my only holster) so I wanted something versitile.

My Steyr M40 is not all that heavy but the gun is held very tight to your body and it's a wide band holding it instead of a narrow belt so the weight and friction are well dispursed. I imagine it would be a comfortable way to carry a heaver gun like a 1911.

My Defender wasn't able to handle the heavier weight of my full-size 1991 but I did carry my S&W SW-99 and PO P-12 .45 in it.The P-12 was almost too heavy for it but the SW-99's weight disappeared.I had the LG size and would bet that it would carry your MK40 without any problems. If you need a great belly band for a larger gun try looking into Gunslinger's belly bands.
