KAHR MK-9

Kentucky Rifle

New member
I went to my local gun shop yesterday to purchase some Hydra-Shoks, and a small 9MM auto caught my eye. It's the smallest Kahr. I believe it's called a MK-9. Tiny and well finished. I'm close to just going back and getting it today.
Does anyone have experience with this little Kahr? (Good or bad)

Thanks,
Will

I used to own one...it was a two-tone LTD edition. It shoots fairly well from my own experience up to about 21 yards; good CCW because of its size and it being double action so no safeties to mess with. The only reason I do not own it now is I traded it for a higher caliber pistol then---a Glock 21. Make sure you are getting a good deal on it, price-wise of course.

If you're in the market for the smallest (NOT the lightest -- as it is fairly heavy for it's size), serious caliber pistol ... the Kahr MK9 is it. It's accurate, reliable and about the same size as a PPK.

MK9's are great little ccw guns. My only complaint was the sharp edge on the slide stop. I sent mine off to a smith to get that dehorned, plus I had a trigger job done, 30 lpi front strap checkering, and hard chromed. The little tiny night sites on mine provide a decent site picture for low light condition. Reliability was never a problem.

Overall, I think it's a great gun for the money. I hardly ever carry mine but shoot it quite a bit at the range. For a DAO pistol, the Kahr line of pistols are outstanding.

My favorite carry piece. It's sitting on my hip right now. Remarkably accurate for such a short barrel and sight radius. Today, I was shooting at a silhouette target from 50 yards (yes, yards). I was in roll-over prone position. 11 of 13 shots on target. Now, that's a whole lot worse than I can do with my full-size M1911. But not bad for dinky little barrel.

Very reliable. Conceals very easily. A tad heavy for pocket carry. Great in an IWB or tuckable holster.

It is the smallest 9mm available. It is smaller than a PPK and you get 9mm instead of .380ACP.

Excellent little gun and many TFL'rs own them. Do a search for it and you will find MANY posts. Mine is used as an ankle gun and for pocket carry in jeans.
