Kahr MK 9?

Has anyone out there have any thoughts on this mini Kahr?I'm looking to get the elete model which has a somewhat better trigger than the regular Kahr guns. I have a friend who has a K9 and really loves that gun. No problems with it at all through 1000 rounds. My son just bought a K9 model which has been fine for the first 250 rounds thru it. I just don't know anyone with the mini Kahr. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks, ShooterJD

Hey Shooter,

The MK9 is an excellent gun.
After much research, I purchased one, about 3 months ago.
I find it a little heavy, but for inside-the-waistband carry, the weight is not noticed.
(Previously preferred polymer pistols.)

Also, the weight keeps the recoil to a minimum.

Do a search here on TFL, and you should find much info, most of it in favor of this gun.

I loved mine, but sold it for a very decent price in favor of the soon-to-be-released PM9. Mmm... can't wait. Everything you love about the MK9, but with half the weight! Well, not quite half, but you get the idea. :)

As to your actual question... the MK9 is a superior pistol, but is too heavy for general pocket carry. IWB or on the belt: no problemo.

Moderators, can I change my name in a month? Papa Mike Niner? :D

Great CCW gun. Of all my pistols, I carry the Kahr MK9 the most.

You can buy the "elite" trigger from Kahr and install it on your "standard" MK9. I did it to mine and it was about 1/2 hour. The Elite trigger has a shorter pull and a quicker "re-set" time.

Not all that hard, but I'm no pistolsmith either. Just make sure that you but some nice brass punches to drift out the trigger pivot pin.

If you run a search you will find a least a dozen if not 100 threads on this gun. You will find very few negative comments. Great gun.

Buy it, and don't look back.

All points above noted, but for a few things... neither the PM9, nor the 'base' MK9 with the Elite trigger have the lovely satin stainless finish of the Elite...
