Kahr K9 vs. P9

Yes. I prefer the K9.

It's heavier, which really tames recoil, even with +P ammo. Of course, that can factor into carrying comfort.

But, there's also the "in hand" feel. The K9 fits my hand like a glove, whereas the P9 isn't nearly so comfortable.

My vote goes to the P9. In a 9mm it doesn't recoil enough to worry over. The grip was admittedly a bit too thin, but I fixed that by adding a Hogue Handall to mine.

Only have the K9 Elite and it's one fine handgun. Well made, accurate and 100% reliable in the two years I've owned it. Still hearing occasional negative reports regarding the P9 so I haven't picked one up.

Another vote for the K9

prefer it to the P9 for recoil control and ergonomics. For me, the extra weight is not a factor when carrying.

The K9.

First off, it isn't exactly a heavy pistol.

Second, the additional weight, relative to the p9, helps in the shootabilty department.

Third, it just feels right. Folks who look forward to the day Kahr releases a six ounce .40s&w will disagree, of course. Which is their right.

P9 Covert - If you get a good one.

Weight matters. Carry mine everyday with 124 +P Gold-Dots.

Very little recoil compared to my 340PD.
