Kahr K9 Range Report

Picked up my new K9 stainless on Saturday. Stripped, cleaned and lubed it and took it to the range. The manual says 200 shot "break in" and I got 100 in today with metal jacket ball ammo. At 7 yards I was shooting fist-sized groups -- a little low and to the left at first. It has a long, smooth trigger pull and I was working to keep the gun on target through the trigger pull. It is nicely accurate for such a small gun -- I could easily also hit the target at 25 yards. I was getting the occasional "flyer" I think because I was not used to the long trigger pull. With practice I'm sure I will manage this better. Nice little gun -- I'm very happy with it. The mag edges are sharp -- is there a good tool for helping to load the mags?

Congrats on your K9.
I got my first Kahr a couple of months ago.
(MK9)
I love it!
It is possibly the most accurate gun that I own.
I've owned two Ketec P11s, so the Kahr trigger is a breath of fresh air, piece of cake, walk in the park,....you get the idea.

Try this:
1. Just the finger tip on the trigger.
2. Both eyes open.
3. Squeeeeeeeez trigger straight back, don't jerk. Let the explosion take you by surprise.
Save one of these targets, and compare to one after you've shot 1000 rounds.
You'll see a difference.
Your Kahr will feed Wolf ammo, (around $100 per 1000) or Winchester white box ($10.99 +tax / 100 at Wally World).

Any single stack mag loader should work.
Try Cabela's, Midway, Cheaper Than Dirt.

Shoot safe, have fun.

I have a K40..excellent excellent gun. I went out west towards the desert yesterday. My 8 year old and I were going plinking.
I had my CZ83 mak, 3953 and my K 40. We set up some stuff...cans, ammo boxes etc and started blasting away...he loves my CZ. After a while he is watching me shoot the Kahr..."does it kick really bad?" he asked. More than the CZ...(which he has mastered quite well for a 60 lb small person)...."can I try it?"
Do you want me to help you? Sure...so we shoot a couple of rounds with me assisting his grip. "Its little dad....wow!" He is refering to the grip diameter...he can wrap his hands around it better than the CZ which is a double stack. I watched him closely and he let a couple rounds rip. I loaded up another mag for him.
Only 8-9 rounds alone but he hit the last 3 cans with it..all in a row. He was proud enough...we had to call grandpa on the way home and tell him.....this is the best part....he asks my dad "Since Im 8 and shot the Kahr...do you think by the time Im 10 I can shoot your Casull?" I could hear my dad laughing across the truck on my cell phone........Im thinking "What have I done?"
Shoot well

Hey Eric,

That was a day well spent.
Your son will remember that day many years after you have passed to the happy hunting grounds.

Thanks for sharing with us.
