My early model Kahr K9 (law enforcement trade-in) was well-worn, with lots of missing finish on the frame and slide. But it was smooth, comfortable, and accurate, often times replacing my Caspian Officer's ACP as my carry gun.
Yesterday, I did the unthinkable. I ran three rounds of Federal Law Enforcement +P+ fodder through the little guy. On the third round, the extractor flew off to parts unknown, and the trigger return spring gave out. I'm attributing it to the hotter ammo and a weak (old) recoil spring, with higher slide velocities and the subsequent battering. As I read and reread my owner's manual, I don't see any mention of +P or +P+ loads being disallowed. So no more +P+ ammo for my K9, assuming that's the worst I did to the gun is break a couple small parts.
