Kahr K40 vs. K40 Elite

Anyone have any opinions on purchasing the Kahr K40 versus the K40 Elite?

The elite is more expensive and supposely has a nicer trigger.

Is it worth the extra cost?

thank you in advance

I have an MK9 elite and compared the trigger pull to a friends MK9 and could tell no difference. It might be due to his being well broken in and mine being brand new. The elite has a 1/8" shorter pull but if I were doing it again, I'd probably save the money and spend it getting the front strap checkered or having some decent sights put on it.

My idea of gun control is watch the front sight and use both hands!

My experience has been a little different from blunder's. I have the MK9 elite too and have found the trigger to be a little smoother and cleaner than the non-elites I have tried and definitely think it's worth the money.

But, as blunder points out, there are a lot of factors that go into such a comparison and it's more than a little subjective. Is it possible for you to try both the elite and not-elite versions, so you can decide what feels better to you?

I do agree that front strap checkering would be an excellent use of surplus funds

I have the k40 elite 98. The one benefit not yet discussed is the night sights. They come standard on the elite. I prefer the 3 dot stup, and the night sights are 3 dotters, plus very easy to see in daylight. It also shows no signs of corrosion after a year of daily carry. Get the Elite, and yes the front strap could use some checkering...
