Kahr K40 or Glock 27

I have a friend with a Kahr stainless K40 and I have a Glock 27. We were doing a little comparing yesterday and ran a few mags thru both pistols. I liked the way the Kahr felt in my hand, But that long trigger pull just didn't impress me. I always thought the Glocks had a long pull, But the little 27 felt like a 1911 compared to the Kahr! I guess it would take a good bit of practice to get used to. My friend was trying to trade me out of my glock and even though his offer was tempting , $100 plus K40 for my G27, I couldn't do it.My buddy had a slight surface rust problem back in the fall from leaving the stainless kahr in his dash on those cold mornings. He didn't think stainless was supposed to rust. The one other thing that bothered me was the 6 rounds compared to my 9. Both pistols are pretty much the same size, But the Kahr is just a little bit thinner, Not by much though.I know the Kahrs are rated pretty high up on the quality and dependability, But I think for the money, I would go with the Glock.Just my 2 cents worth.:p

Smart move keeping the glock, you would have regretted it. Ya know, there is a reason your friend wanted to trade. You might suggest to him that he trade it at a gun show or to a dealer. The kahr is a fine pistol but it is still no Glock.

Both are fine weapons, but I'd rate the Glock a bit better than the Kahr. You can always use full size "normal capacity" magazines in you G27 for added firepower. You can't do that with the Kahr.

One thing I love about my Glocks are their resistance to weather conditions. I'm brutal with my carry guns and use them like tools and not ornaments. Every Glock I have owned has performed admirably even when I haven't treated them as such. Sweat pouring out the barrel and dripping out the mag well..no problem. Ice cold weather..no problem. Salt spray from fishing trips in the gulf..no problem. Even gritty beach sand inside the entire weapon..I won't say how it got there :D ...but no problem!

I wouldn't be that confident with the Kahr.

I have a K40 and a Glock 23. The Glock's same from first to last shot trigger is much easier for me to shoot consistently. However the Kahr will actually outshoot my Glock WHEN I remember to pull the Kahr's trigger straight through and not try to anticipate the letoff point. They are both 100% reliable. I do wish the Kahr held a round or 2 more but I carry 2 spare mags.

It's a no win situation. Even if you traded for the k40 and loved it. The day would come
when you'd think back on the Glock and wince. Guaranteed.
I cringe several times a-"CRINGE" (there goes one right now)- day. If you have a
quality arm (and you do) hold on to it. Save up for a new Kahr (which is a good gun too).

Ah, who am I kidding? Ya just can't scare a gun addict...
