Kahr K/MK Series - Elite Trigger Swap

I have a Kahr MK40 that I carry. Its a great gun and is quite a shooter for such a small handgun.

It is not the "Elite" model with the Elite trigger, just the standard MK40/9. Does Kahr offer a conversion to the Elite trigger? Can you buy just the Elite trigger? Is it something that Kahr does or can the average-gun owner do this? What is the cost?

Kahr will do it. When I had it done to my K40 several years back, the cost was $100. I've heard that you can purchase the parts yourself, but it sounded as though installation wasn't easy.

The parts cost $30.00. You purchase the trigger, a spacer and a spring.

The installation is easy if you have access to a pin press. Otherwise forget it. You will mar your frame trying to hammer the pin out and it will not come out. A few fellows reporting here have bent drifts and generally got ticked but no one has reported success without a pin press.
 
I have an early K40. Is the Elite trigger a LOT better? Is it worththe $100? Is it shorter? I can't imagine it can be any smoother:)
