Kahr K-45 .45 ACP...who would buy one?

I know it is not available, and maybe never will be, but who would buy a Kahr K-45 .45 ACP if they made one? It seems to me that one would be comparable in size to a Glock 36 with the extended floorplate in place. My dealer can't keep the G36 in stock due to overwhelming demand. Is Kahr paying attention? An all stainless compact .45 with a six plus one shot capacity. I would buy one...would any of you?

Yep. I would also like to see the Glock 36 in person, but haven't yet and don't know if I'll get a chance in this state.

If they could keep it slim and under 40 ounces, I'd might be game. :D
Already having a couple .45acp compact autos, it would have to offer the goods in order to attract my attention (and that of some others). The goods being the high standard of quality and innovation that Kahr is currently renown for.

The only reason I would even consider it at all is due to the excellent (and that's an understatement for certain) service I have received from my K9.
It's no wonder why Kahr has a cult following (and I ain't talking about the Moonies either). ;)

No. The whole point is that the guns are slim. Would you buy a .45 Seecamp?

What would the capacity of a MK45 be? 3+1? Why not just carry two derringers? ;)

Nope. At least not unless I was positive that it was designed from the ground up as a .45 platform. I'm just not interested in "new" models that are nothing more than rechambered for bigger cartridges. They never seem to work, last, or shoot very well compared to designs engineered for the cartridge.

I'll let you guys buy them first, find that like the P9's, you've just purchased a 400$ paperweight that will have more frequent flier miles in one year than you do in ten. UPS stock will likely go up as well because of the repeat Kahr business. After about two years of this Kahr will solve their reliability problems...and then it will be time to buy one.:p

A while back I exchanged e-mails with an exec. at Kahr. The e-mails led me to believe they were considering a .45 along the lines of the Sig 245 (size wise). I would love an all steel .45 compact and a duty sized Kahr .45 as well.

Yeah, I'd seriously consider a polymer Kahr in .45 ACP. I think there's a market for a light, 5+1 shot .45 CCW pistol. The only things I can think of that come close are the S&W Chiefs Special and the SIG P245.

Blades...I've got three MK Kahrs, and each of them has been perfect out of the box. The MK 40 gets about fifty rounds every week or two, for the past year or so, and has yet to have a single burp. Sorry if your Kahr experience was not as good, but don't misjudge the whole line. Gary

Blades,

Another vote for perfection from my Kahr K9 out of the box.

I love the thing. No failures to feed, eject, anything. No one I know who has one has had any problems with the K9, either.

I've heard of problems with the P9, but that's not the K9.
