If you truly want to go insane...try dealing with Kahrs customer service. There is no service...none..nada...zilch! Call and your put on hold forever, e-mail and you get an auto response (in other words nothing)! I would not ever purchase anything from this company again!!! Buy a Sig, Walther, Colt, anything but stay away from Kahr!!! PS. their music you listen to while on hold could make you homicidal!

While I understand your frustration, if I quite buying products from every company that ever made me or someone I know mad, well, I wouldn't own much...

Jim

there's recent a thread on the highroad about khar's cust serv too lol

i never considered buying their pistols as they're overpriced and have inconsistent reliability, but i can tell you i would never buy a gun from a company with crappy service again after dealing with Para's lol.

by good cust service, i mean responsive, they pay shipping, and don't hassle me. s&w and Springfield armory both meet these expectations from my personal experiences.

save yourself a headache, and google customer service reviews before making a purchase. that's what i do.

I know it sucks, trust me, as a former Taurus owner I feel your pain.

As for Kahr, keep after them, get your gun fixed and then off load it. It will save you future hassle.

I've e-mailed Kahr Customer Service on two separate occasions; once in 2009 and once in 2010.

Both times I had a personalized and thoroughly detailed e-mail response to my questions within 24 hours.

I'm sorry your experience has been negative. Hopefully they'll make it right for you.

Kahr service

I bought my 5th Kahr a few months ago and had a minor problem with it. I never had a problem of any kind with the other 4. I called Kahr and was answered immediately. I told them my problem, and they said they would either send me the part, or I could return the pistol to them at their cost by Fedex. I sent it back on a Friday and got it back the next Thursday. They were very professional and apologized for my problem. If they come out with a steel frame 45, it will be my 6th Kahr.

I had purchased a Kahr K-9 years ago. After shooting it I determined that I wanted to change out the NY trigger for the Elite trigger. I contacted them, they responded. I sent the gun in, it came back. No hassles. I found their CS to be excellent.

Just try and avoid Ian (or however he spells it) the Welsh guy. He's probably not the best example of a customer service guy.

I've had a couple of dealings with them in the past five years; once, for an Auto Ordnance 1911 after Kahr bought them out and more recently, to get a slide lock spring for a CW40 that a friend's relative screwed up horribly while trying to reassemble it. My oldest son also had an issue with a new CW40 barrel.

In both my instances, Kahr was more than willing to ship replacement parts at no charge. In my son's case, they returned his pistol in under two weeks with a better-grade polygonal barrel, than the one the gun came with.

Sorry your experience with them has not been as trouble-free as mine. I had a terrible time with the service dept. of a 'big three' handgun maker a few years ago, who has a solid rep with practically everyone else, so I know it can happen.

Sucks when it does.

MY experience with Kahr customer service was okay. I had to call a few times to get someone on the phone but once I did it was no problem. This was about 3 years ago.

In my experience, some companies (Kahr and Springfield Armory) are better contacted by phone than email (Smith & Wesson.)

I have dealt with Kahr service on out of warranty ( second hand ) guns and they have taken good care of me both times. Both by email, both emails responded to quickly and professionally. I have also emailed with questions a couple times and got quick, professional replies both times. I would give you the email address to "my guy" but apparently your dislike of Kahr gives you something to post/whine about and I wouldn't want to take that away from you

I dealt with Kahr customer service twice on my malfunctioning CW40. Both times they paid the shipping (after I suggested it). Both times I dealt with Ian with no problem. Unfortunately their shop failed to fix the problem both times. Sold the CW40 and now have a working K40.

E-mail? The one I sent out 9 months ago still hasn't been replied to.

My Kahr CS experience was decent, not great, not terrible. I took some time to get a response to my emails/calls but once I talked to Ian things went smoothly. The OP may very well experience terrible service from Ian and Kahr as a whole. I don't understand why people are so offended by it.

I've had a CW9 for a couple of years and it has been great right outta the box. However, I bought a new CW45 in March, and it was a dud from the get go. I paid to run 300 shells thru it to prove it was a dud and then asked them to fix it. They told me to send it in, at my expense. I explained what I thought about paying to send them a brand new dud, and they finally gave in and paid for it.

As soon as I got it back I sold it. That's not the kind of company I want to support.

My Kahr P380 quit running. I called Kahr CS who answered the phone immediatly and were very polite. The next day FedEx picked up my pistol on Kahr's dime, repaired the pistol (it now runs perfectly) and had it back in my hands in 9 days.
All in all it was a painless and positive experience.
I wish you'd have had a similar experience.

I do not agree with negatives about Kahr Service. I used email alone and got outstanding responses. A new barrel solved the first problem very quickly in a problem free super fast mail delivery, but a new magazine follower did not resolve the second problem. I mean my contact and response was great. I regret needing to use the customer service. It would have been better if the pistol I bought worked well enough to not need to contact them at all. But that was not true. For that reason I will always tell everyone I know not to buy Kahr. Might not be fair, but that is my experience. If you want to buy a gun that fails to function as it should, and you're willing to have customer service try to resolve it, I have to say their customer service department was just fine. I bet there are some frustrated people that work in that department that try their best dealing with customers expecting the most and production that doesn't seem to give a crap about what they ship.
