K38 Masterpiece M14

I recently purchased a used k38 model 14 in 6". It comes with a wide Target trigger and target hammer. It is a used Bullseye pistol, it is dead accurate with HBWC. I am still waiting to transport it home. I know it is a k frame revolver. It it fairly old, it has some custom target grips that dont fit my hand. I want to buy some rubber grips. What grips would fit this revolver. Is it round butt or square. I cannot tell with custom target grips installed now.

Bullseye101, I believe all K38 Masterpiece M14 revolvers were originally issued with square butt grips from the factory. Hope this helps!

Any grip for square butt K frame should do.

Either K-38 or K-38 Masterpiece, whichever yours is, grip frame same as the other square K frames..

One of the great revolvers! New grips if you must, but save the originals, and don't do anything else to it, just shoot and enjoy.

Unless someone has altered it...

it's a squarebutt, just like M14 and Sam said.

Pachmayr rubber grips are very useful..
If you can find any, long ago an outfit called "Mershom" made a rubber sort of grip called the "10-point". They are way long out of business, but they were the grips for the K-38 in the old days.

The World Record Score for Centerfire is still held by a K 38 Masterpiece.Besides all the other grip suggestions, you could have a think about Bill Davis BD-L grips.I particularly like them myself because they are firm rubber.not squishy like the Hogues. They are also a bit longer than usual and have a flat base which is ideal for resting when shooting the prone or load testing. They also have only one finger groove so the third and little fingers don't have to fit anything and can just curl around comfortably to suit the shooter.
As far as the "target" trigger is concerned,I don't like them much.I far prefer the "combat" trigger because I can get more finger around it and have better control.I have a S&W M16 (.32 H&R Magnum) and I modified the trigger to combat specs also added a trigger stop--result=perfection.

About as accurate as they get.

Thanxs alot for the replies. I am looking forward in shooting my revolver. I just picked up some pachmyr presentation rubber grips. The hogue with the finger groves dont fit my hand properly.
