I am looking at the St. Marie clamp on mount. I have never seen one of these except on the web. I notice that they are off set to the right 3/4". Is this a problem? They also use the 3/8" .22 rifle rings all steel is this a problem? Can a long target type scope 40 mm Objt. be mounted with out going to high rings? I notice Brownell seems to have the best price for the Alum mount?:)

Red, I have a 43mm Zeiss on mine with medium height Warne 7.3 rings. It is really close to the rear sight. I ended up filing a little off the rear sight to increase the clearance with the front bell. If your scope is much longer than the Zeiss you may be good to go. I shoot it with one of Pete Ogden's cheekpads and a severe cant, so the offset is fine.

I use a 25mm scope and glued a small piece of cork to protect the tube from the brass. No experience with 30mm tubes, but you probably need the higher rings to provide ejection or loading clearance.

Brownells or Grafs are both great suppliers. In my experience, Brownells ships quicker.

Look over Swissrifles. Great website/forums for all things k11 and k31.
