Justifiable.

There seems to be more laws and riders than guns out there. I would like to know if there is any knowledge of justifiable homicide out there where the people were cleared and not sued. This is not for bloodlust, just wanted to know what is considered justifiable and what is not.

I wouldn't trust the opinion of anyone on the Internet for such info. You should know your local laws and talk to a decent criminal defense attorney in your area who has dealt with such issues.

You might contact your state rifle association for such a person.

There is not a generalizable principle that you can bet your life on.

One might argue that lethal force is defensible if used to prevent grievous bodily harm.

Nuances:

Is this just for yourself or others too. What others are covered?

What about the need to retreat?

So it's a crap shoot - you need competent legal advice on the local level.

Wow, what a can of worms. Glen E. Meyer is right when he says get a lawyer. One jurisdiction will adjudicate far differently than it's next door neighbor. Ditto for each and every incident, even within the same juristiction. And let's not even get into civil liability! Expect to be sued, be prepared for it, and then if by some miracle it doesn't happen, you're a happy camper. Now, having said all that, let me go out on a limb and throw out the following as a suggested guideline for the use of deadly force: "Only when faced with the threat of immediate and inescapable death or great bodily injury". There are some great folks out there involved with lethal threat management training. Seek them out. Stay safe.
