I copied this off of www.nraila.org
which is part of their intoduction to their
congressional emailer program.

I my opinion , it does a p!ss poor job of explaining anything and must have been written by a generalist, which is all to close to a liberal for my liking.

I hate writing congesscritters when I am not in possession of all the facts; it tends to make me feel like a mmm mislead mom.

Duh, im not sure why I 'm writing this letter
to you because nra did a p!ss poor job of explaining the issue.

Well ,see for yourself, they are not very ample in their explaination.

Take Action Now

The U.S. Senate is expected to vote on a variety of restrictive "gun control" proposals in the near future, including the Lautenberg gun show ban language; an import ban on "high-capacity" magazines; repeal of large parts of the 1986 Firearm Owners' Protection Act, including a re-definition of criteria for FFL holders; a resolution intended to bolster Vice President Gore's recent political attacks on Right To Carry laws that advocates further limits on places where lawful permit holders could carry, and a one-gun-a-month scheme. Anti-gun zealots are also pressing for votes on bills to mandate national registration of firearms and licensing of gun owners.

Therefore, we need you to continue to contact your U.S. Senators at (202) 224-3121 and urge them to oppose any and all "gun control" proposals that may be offered, and instead, to concentrate their efforts on enforcing existing laws. You may also e-mail your Senators by entering your zip code in the "Take Action Now" box above which will allow you to e-mail directly from this site.

Hey ! That directly concerns me!!!

Boy , I sure wish I had an inkiling of what they are considering doing to us FFL holders next!

Does any one on TFL know what they are planning? Got any good links for me???

I might be able to write them a letter if I had any idea just what they are about .

In fact I just wrote them a letter b!tching on general principals and promised to write them a more specific letter if I ever got any details.

All help and info gratefully accepted.

White House rails against House gun vote
By Alan Fram
The Associated Press

June 22, 2000 5:26 AM EDT

WASHINGTON (AP) -- White House officials are railing against a House vote to curb the administration's ability to bring more communities into the federal agreement with Smith & Wesson, the giant gun maker.

The House voted 218-207 to bar the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs from working to expand or administer the Communities for Safer Guns Coalition. In return for Smith & Wesson's promise to use gun safety devices and restrictive sales practices, the 411 localities that have so far joined the coalition have agreed to make the company's firearms the preferred gun for their law enforcement agencies.

Rep. John Hostettler, R-Ind., who sponsored the provision, said in an interview afterward that the vote was "pretty significant" because it would mean that "local law enforcement agencies won't feel pressure from a federal agency ... in the procurement of firearms."
