Hey hows it going, just wanted to thank everyone I've been reading the forum for a while and would like to thank all the contributers for information they have given. I know its prolly not proper to ask a question the first time around, but if you can bear with me I have one.

I'm about to purchase my first 1911 style pistol and Ive been able to "touch feel" the SA Mil Spec Operator. I think this is the one but would like any feed back on this pistol. I've heard some bad things about the light rail eating up holsters. Other than that I would like some performance Info. If anyone lives in Maryland they know how hard it is to obtain a CCP. I work in the Corp Security field and my job is allowing me to get one....THANK GOD! As a former Marine I carried the Berreta 92 and was not impressed at all. I need a weapon that is going to work everytime no jams stove pipes......and stoping power of course.

like I said any feed back would be great!

The only holsters that the Springfield will tear up are those holsters not designed for a 1911 with a light-rail. The Mil-Spec gun should work just fine with ball ammo, but hollowpoint ammo may be another story. The only way you will know for sure is to try it with your chosen carry ammo, or mandated duty load, after you buy the gun.
