Just visited the brady web site ....

When I look at political views I allways look at things in the background like how hard they fight to prove there right when there wrong like how they dont have forums linked to the brady site to talk about there issues . One thing I know us gun owners have on our side is the Constitution thank god for that we dont need to fight to prove anything it is in our Constitution . My only problem is these scum bags who try to change the Constitution to fit there agenda . How unamerican is that , my friends so many changes going on in our country we have forgot the basics .

The lack of a free exchange of ideas is among the major downfalls of the Brady Campaign. They don't want to hear from the other side, so they squelch all voices but their own.

Changing the Constitution to fit an agenda isn't unAmerican. The Constitution has been changed i.e. ammended repeatedly. In fact, ammending the Constitution to change the law of the land is very American because that is how our system is set up. Passing and enforcing laws that are in violation of the Constitution is what is unacceptable in our system of government.

The danger of the Brady Bunch and people like them is their ability to get their message to the masses via the media. That is, the number of people actually *in* the Brady Bunch is small, so as a rule, people are not nearly so passionate about hating guns as we are about liking them. On the other hand, there are many, many people out there who are not shooters and don't spend much time thinking about guns one way or the other. These people can be easily swayed by the constant, predominantly anti-gun media bombardment.

Speaking of the "anti media", I have noticed a trend in the last few years. Guns and gun-related TV shows are making a come-back in prime time. Just a few years ago, you had nothing but feel-good crap, reality shows and the occasional drama. You could watch a entire night of TV and not see a single gun. Now, with shows like 24, CSI, Standoff and the like, you could conceivabley see a gun on ever prime time show you watch.

What does it all mean? Nothing, something, I don't know but I see it as a vast improvement and a sign that society has grown more tolerable toward guns.

At the same the info gun shows seem to be fallen into oblivion. My favorite though was Tred Barna(sp?) at the end of all his Hunting shows it siad in fine print "No animals were harmed in the making of this show." And then there were the hunting shows that were so obviously fake. Guy shoots a deer supposedly in the vitals and it jumps then and runs off. Come on people does Hollywood think were that stupid? World of Berreta was a good show but I have't seen that opne on in a while. American shooter was a damn good show but one day they just started playing re-runs. Then there was Sighting in with Shooting USA, Haven't seen that one for a while either. Guns &ammo TV used to be on every Sunday morning on RFD-TV but that dissappeared one day.

Go figure

These so called gun shows like CSI and the like are just dripping with liberal bias in inaccuracies. I think it was two weeks ago they said that a handgun had a forcing cone. Or With out a Trace. About half of the "suspects" are affiliated with some conservative organization. Be it abortion, guns or the like.

CSI also had an episode where Grissom showed the team how "fingerprinting" firearms is worthless. He showed that a criminal had used a file to change the striation pattern so that the recovered bullet would not match the recovered firearm.

CSI seems to be, generally, somewhat neutral about guns being "bad". Their tech advisor seems to know what is what and the directors/actors listen. Almost every time that they show a case, the caliber is exactly what they are discussing. The shows firearms forensics expert shows a definate enjoyment of firearms and Willows has admired several different firearms over the years. Yeah, they get some things wrong. The writers all seem to thing that every locale requires full firearms registration, but that's true of most Hollywood types.
