I finaly field striped my SP101. It is the only revolver I own except for an NAA mini and it is the first revolver I have ever striped. I have to say that it was easyer than I expected. I took it down twice and the second time it took about a minute. I also gave her a good cleaning while I was at it. I did have one screw up. It happened when I started playing around with the trigger group and pulled the trigger to the rear and BOING out flys some little pin with a spring attached to it. I was lucky that it bounced off my chest and landed in my lap. I started looking for where it came from and couldn't find anywhere that looked right. I checked the blown up diagram and found that it fits behind the base of the part that turns the cylinder. After a little struggle I got it back in place. It all worked out pretty well. Now that I know I won't be pulling the trigger when it is out of the frame anymore.

After having my GP100 for almost a year I finally took it apart theoter day....that's what I love about Rugers....it was simple...I started out a little sweaty, thinking it would be one of those pinicy, swear fests...but I was suprised. Before I did it I use some gun scrubber and sprayed the crap out of it.I was suprised at how clean it was when I got it apart....I'd do it again it a second..

I got the "boing" the first time also..:D Oh Sh*t..dont do that again. Its pretty easy after a while and I actually got to see what my smith did to mine...very nice.
Shoot well
