Just spent all of my Cabela Bucks on scope rings,,,
My OCD tendencies momentarily overwhelmed my normal frugality.

I need to remount the Leupold Rifleman on my es340b Mauser,,,
It's just a hair low and rubs (ever so slightly) on the bolt.

The problem is I don't know the rated height of the current rings,,,
Are they Low, Medium, or High?

So I figured I would order a set of each.

The Weaver Quad-Locks only come in Medium and High,,,
But are affordably priced at only $19.99 a pair.

I'm betting that it will take the High to clear the bolt and rear sight,,,
But surely one of the two will work for me,,,
And I'll have the other on hand.

While I was doing the order it dawned on me,,,
I have a Vortex 30mm tube scope I'll be mounting on a future purchase.

I might as well get a set for that scope as well,,,
But which height should I order?

The easy solution is order both a 30mm Medium and High,,,
So I added two pairs of Leupold rings to the order at $29.95 each

Total with tax and free shipping was right at $105.00,,,
I had $84.00 in Cabela Bucks so it's only $21.00 out of pocket.

I am thinking that I will re-order the two I end up using,,,
Just so I'll have a set of rings to cover most any future needs.

It's always been a source of frustration when I need to mount a scope,,,
And don't have the proper rings on hand.

How OCD is that?

That was a fun read....thanks for posting. My problem is there are several sets of rings and some bases on a shelf that will likely never be used again. But, guns are my hobby, so there ya go.

The way my OCD brain works,,,
It's better to have the extras around.

Saves time when you don't need to order them,,,
Or haunt stores to find what you need.

"Be Prepared" was the one thing I took to heart,,,
From many years of scouting as a youth.
