So, I've had this 870 that I've had for quite a while. It had a 28" barrel and only held 4 rounds in the magazine tube. Good for hunting but not much else. So, I had some money from Christmas and my birthday so I got a Reminton 20" IC barrel with rifle sights and a Choate 3 rnd mag ext. I've put about 60 rounds of 00, 40 rounds of 1oz slugs, and 200 rounds of light #8 shot through it in this configuration. Loads of fun. I like this gun MUCH better and it has just a completely different personality.

(not so great pic but it does have my 1911 in it)

In the rear sight pic you can see some kinda gunk that was in the barrel in shipping. It has been very difficult to take off.

(please excuse the mess on the porch. Its cold and I don't want to clean it till spring.) :D

Nice Remington. I've got the same shotgun in synthetic and bought the same barrel. I put a Tacstar extension and mag clamp on mine and an ATI (:o ) full buttstock with pistol grip on it. Shoots like a dream.

WHAT!!!! A Yellow stop sign!!!

Haha just kidding I saw the other post.:D

Im with you I like the real stuff, wood looks good.

I guess if all you want to do is waste ammo and make a lot of noise - that your modifications are pretty decent.

In Pennsylvania - you could use that set up for hunting deer. But the extra ammo in the tube would make the gun very heavy to lug around all day.

It wouldn't be very practical for wingshooting and small game here only allows you to have a 3 shot capacity.

If you were shooting clay pigeons - you wouldn't need or want or be allowed at most ranges to have more than 2 rounds in your firearms.

Wow, talk about a total kill-joy. I don't hunt anything but deer and I have a Reminton 700 in 7mm mag for that. And, when I shoot blue rock it is not at a public range. So I think I'm good to go.

It is for home defense. I'll likely never need to use it for home defense or defense at all but if I do then have 8 inches less on the barrel and an extra three rounds in the tube will make me feel ALOT better.
