Just Shot My first Reloads.

Mosin-Marauder

So, just got done cleaning and greasing my rifle after I shot them. I did okay, I guess. It was 8 o' clock and visibility wasn't great. This was from 65 yards away. Was doing a six o clock hold on the target. The two on the target are a 1 inch group, there was on I pulled a bit that was about 2 inches from the one furthest the right. I think I might have done better if I could have saw better, was just anxious to shoot, though I did practice good breath control and trigger squeeze. The one I pulled I rushed a bit, im pretty sure. Anyway, no signs of over pressure from the cases. All in all the ammo shot well. We're going to increase the charge by half a grain and see where that takes us, also going to drift the sight so it doesn't shoot extremely right. It's better than my original group at 50 yards, I'm wanting to get a Clamp On Scope Mount sometime. Thanks for your help and advice.

Personally I would get a bigger target and shoot a 5-10 shot group and see what it does to eliminate shooter error or other stuff.

Was this the mosin or swiss?

Have you shot factory ammo out of it? if so did it pull to the right too.

I tend to try and match my reloads to the best bought ammo that I can find available just in case i'm hunting or something and somehow my ammo is compromised.

Nice job mosin. I predict you'll be reloading for the mosin.. It's addictive... You'll start to get curious about what the rifle could do with some custom tailored ammo. Soon you'll enjoy reloading as much or close to as much as shooting. And don't believe that bunk about being able to shoot more... You'll now be buying reloading products so you can reload more and quicker. :-). It's a great hobby, and your doing amazing.. By the time you're in your thirties you'll be the next Bart b or uncle nick!

Well that's good. Tweak away and drift those sights on target. Can't wait to see a target when you finally get it all figured out.

Reloading is part of the fun of shooting for me. There is nothing like finding that just right combination that puts a grin on your face.

There are no magic bullets. Only accurate ones. Sometimes you have to make them yourself.
