Just shot a Kimber

I just got back from the range where I shot a Kimber. Man oh man, at least for this newbie, that single action trigger can't be beat. I was consistently shooting groups 1/2 to 1/3 the size of my normal (newbie) size. At 25 feet, I shot one whole group of five in the orange/red center of the target, maybe a two inch group. That's firing Weaver, and I know people post here all of the time of shoting two inches at 25 *yards*, but I'm not there yet. Still my best effort to date. That thing was fun to shoot.

I still think some kind of bottlenck round makes sense, just from the point of feeding.
Maybe a CorBon 400, or Super .40?

Hello. The Kimbers are nice, aren't they? I think that they are the best buy for the dollar in a new 1911. Others here have cited some problems, but mine and those of my friends have just worked and worked and worked. Best.

I've two, and the more I shot them the more I love them. Both .45 ACP.

In theory the bottle necks might feed better. I'm not sure that that is true in practice. Though ballistically I don't think there is a thing wrong with the bottle neck .357 Sigs or larger - and I certainly wouldn't think they be any less reliable. In it's day the .30 Luger had quite a following.
