Just received this engraved, nickel/gold Pietta 1860 today

Got my Pietta 1851 Marshall yesterday and my 1860 Pietta today. Two in one week! The 1851 Marshall had been fired but just a few rounds and is like new. The 1860 is unfired. Got them both for just a little over half of what new ones would have cost. Now I just need two more to complete what I want in my collection.

Still need to get.....
1. The stainless like metal engraved 1860 Marshall that thus far I have only seen available at Marstar of Canada and anything from Marstar is not importable in the U.S., so I'm still hunting a U.S. source for that one, and....

2. The full length barrel nickel/gold engraved 1851 Pietta. Cabelas has that one for $349.00, and I have missed winning several auctions for that one too. Still on the hunt for a good deal on that one at Gunbroker or Auction Arms.

That will complete the BP revolvers I want for my collection except for the 1851 Remy carbine.

Here's the 1851 and the 1860 I got yesterday and today.....

Except for the pvc faux ivory grips and the pattern of the engraving, my newest Pietta 1860 (on the bottom) that arrived today is very similar to my engraved ASM wood grip 1860 pictured just above it....

All below are Pietta's except for one 1860 ASM....

Nice looking guns Bill! Congrats! Somehow, though, I have a feeling that your herd will never be complete . . . there's always room for one more heifer! :D You've certainly put a nice collection together! Thanks for showing us the photos! :)

Bill,
I've got one of those little US Marshalls and it's a cutie. One thing you might want to make or buy is a "cheater" or lever assist for that short rammer. I took a chunk of chair rung about 6" long and 1" dia and drilled a 3/8 or maybe larger hole about 3" deep and beveled the drilled end so I could slip it over the rammer and save the palm of my hand from getting crunched when ramming balls. I think Pioneer Gun works or else Desperado Bullet Co sells a more sophisticated version that works on Colts. I carry mine during deer season as a finishing gun.It is light weight and packs a whallop.

Fine looking bunch of coal burners you have there. Thank you for posting the pics, they are quite enjoyable.

A very good lookin' Collection Bill ... nicely done ... I still miss my old Fancy Classy Lady I had and the Two gold & Nickle Plated Colts I had to sell.

Hey Bill I have a nice set of nickle plated ASM Remmies with nickle plated conversion cyls, (not stainless) I may be listing for sale, look like they'd fit right in with your nice "shiny" collection, let me know if your interested and we can chat, flathead

Hellgate, thanks for the advice about that cheater lever extension. I did know about them. I'll make my own from a dowel that the non drilled solid other end will also double to knock out the wedges on several of my 1860's that are just a tad too tight to pull out by hand. Sure I could file them, but instead of doing that I prefer to just gently give them a tap (never with metal) and they come right out. I had been using the wooden ball on my CVA rifle's bullet starter to tap the wedges out before with on those two revolvers with slightly tight removing wedges. This dowel will fit into my pocket much better than the ball of my rifle's bullet starter.
