I am very impressed. This feels and appears to be a very well made scope. After talking to a lot of folks who own them, I ordered it. It arrived four days later in perfect condition. I jsut have to wait for my M1A to come back now :( to try it out. If you don't know about this scope, check it out at http://www.swfa.com and also read the Sniper Country review.

Wanted to get one for my M1A, but alas, iy will be at Fulton Armory for a while longer. Hopefully next year.

In the meantime, let us know how it does.

What kind of mount were you considering??

Regards,
S.

I purchased a Tasco Super Sniper about two months ago from SWFA and it now sits on top of my M1A. My mount of choice was the SA 3rd generation. The scope is a quality unit and for the price I think it's hard to beat. What's nice is that the reticle is actually etched into the glass. I have read nothing but positive things about the Tasco SS. I also picked up a Mildot Master "slide rule" that SWFA sells. Definitely a handy little item to have.

My scope/mount combination is very solid and I can remove the mount and replace it without losing zero. I have heard people knock the SA 3rd gen. scope mount, however, I beg to differ IMHO. :D

I also just received a Tasco SS10X42 for my Savage 10FP in .308. Am waiting for Leupold QRW rings/mounts to arrive so I can set it up. I'll also post results.

I also got the Mil-Dot Master, the Leopold anti-reflection device, and the flip-up covers...looks hi-speed!

BTW, I have the ARMS #18 mount and #22 QD rings. They are guaranteed to not lose zero, and the mount does not interfere with open sight shooting. The ARMS mount is a National Stock item.

I have the QRW rings for my FAL (DSArms Zero-movement mount) and Leupold VX2 2-7x scope. It works as advertised even on this battle rifle, or, especially on this battle rifle, depending upon your particular slant.

I put a SS10X42M on my 700VS about 3 months ago. Prarie dogs now tremble at my (long distance) approach!! Great scope for a real good price.

What ring height?

Hey Steve,

What height rings did you use for the M1A/SS10X42M/ARMS#18/ARMS#22 setup? Low/medium/high? I've been considering this setup for my M1A as well. I'm trying to get the centerline of the scope as close to the barrel as possible.

Anti Reflection Device (ARD) it clicks into the sunshade. It keeps the glass from reflecting light. I figured I'd go all out. ;)

Ring height...ARMS told me that the #22 mediums were the right height for the 42mm scope. I can't say for sure, as the rifle is still at Springfield.
