Just received my new Sig P210 Legend in Silver!!!

This was kind of a crazy impulse purchase for me, but I have been wanting it ever since I laid eyes on it. I have 2 of the original Sig P210s, one of which is a 50th Anniversary Edition and the other which is a standard model. I bought the regular P210 used since I couldn't bring myself to shoot the 50th Anniversary Edition (since I got it brand new in box). While the original P210 is crazy accurate and has a great trigger, it also tends to hammer bite and it has the lousy European heel mag release.

I have been looking at the Sig P210 Legends for a while but when I saw it in silver, I was hooked. This is the pic that did me in. I will take it to the range as soon as I can and shoot both side by side. Range report to follow!

I am so envious. Those are really good looking guns. Enjoy them.

I ordered the SIG p210 Legend Super Target really early last year. About 4 months later I was given a delivery date approx. three weeks away. Never happened. Was then advised the delivery date would be the end of Dec. 2014. That didn't happen either. Was finally told SIG had import issues and they weren't bringing any German guns into the US. Never any explanation for the two missed delivery dates.

I suppose the only way I'll ever get a p210 is via the used market, where it looks like the guns are way overpriced.

b/t/w I own five SIGs, three are German made, two are X series. Had another X series gun which I traded for one of a higher level. SIG guns have worked really well for me, but I'm not impressed with their marketing/ sales service.

They aren't overpriced at all. That's what they sell for these days. The Legend and the used Swiss models are two different things.

That finish is cuter than hail! The legends are good pistols.

Congrats, stephen426! You've put together a very nice ensemble of P210s in the time since I was last posting here. :)

Yeah, what BAC said. There are some silly prices on GB at times, but you can get a P210-2 (or P49 with matte finish -- the same gun, the former being the civilian model and the latter being military issue) or a -6 (target version with standard length barrel) for reasonable prices with a little patience. There are usually some options besides GB as well.

By "reasonable," I mean a common range of $2,100-2,300 for a -2 in superb condition internally and with minor exterior wear, and $2,500-3,000 for a -6 in equal condition internally and usually a little better externally, with the price variation for the latter depending upon the presence or absence of adjustable sights, completeness and condition of box and papers, plastic vs. wood grips, level of external wear, and vintage.

Frankly, if you're only going to have one P210, it really should be a Swiss P210. The new Legends are superb guns, but they're not on the same level as the old Swiss P210s. No production semi-auto is -- or ever has been. There are good reasons that used Swiss guns -- even with some external wear -- cost more than their new German counterparts.

Thanks guys! I can't wait to try it out! I must admit that the prices have been going through the roof lately. They have been pretty hard to come by and they are a lot less common on gunbroker.com these days. The weird thing is that Sig's website shows the P210 in the discontinued section. I bought mine from www.rocosystem.com which is probably one of the most respected Sig P210 sites on the internet. They had a P210 Super Target but I wasn't prepared to shell out $3,600 on it. They said the P210s are trickling in, but wait times have been crazy. They also mentioned that the P210's are snapped up almost immediately.

@ J.E. Walker, that is a gorgeous gun you have there! I was strongly considering buying them and the prices were that bad initially. I would have a very hard time bringing myself to shoot a special edition like that so that is why I passed on the engraved ones.

Roland is certainly the top P210 'smith in the U.S. -- and quite possibly the world. I bought a couple of mine from him. Great guy to work with. Especially when you can drive out to his house/shop in the Texas Hill Country and shoot some of the used guns a bit. :D

Been away from the forum a couple of days, thanks for all the info. I agree the Swiss guns would be the one(s) to own; to own the finest of handguns. I wanted a Legend Super Target for target shooting. My LGS sells hundreds of thousand of dollars worth of SIGs annually. Got my three X Series guns without a hitch. Not so with the P210.

I guess I'll look around; I'm not in hurry.
