Just received Concealex holster..CONFUSED!!!

Okay I just got my new IWB holster from Blade-Tech, for my new Kimber Compact CDP. I was suprised to see how THICK the mouth of this thing was!!! It kinda negates the reason I got the slim 1911 in the first place. It is more concealable to put my USP40 in a cheapo Uncle Mikes clip on. I purchased the Concealex under curiosity and rave reviews in the chat rooms.

1. When I bend over the wide mouth prints instantly, is this the purpose since the butt of the gun does not print at all-it does not look like a gun at all, unlike when I pack IWB with my H&K.

2. It seems that if I cut that sweat guard out that it would push away from my body less, it looks like that thing added an extra 1/4 the way it goes "in" from the waist line.

3. I am in good shape but man that sweat guard really cuts into the flesh!!

4. Is that the answer cutting the sweat guard off?? If so where exactly without exposing the trigger and with what (don't say Dremel!)

The holster is made very well, and sits very securely in my waist band, I have the J-hook FBI cant and I like that, but like I said the mouth is thick in the 'ol waistband. A belt slide holster would be just as concealable as this thing.

Please help me TFL'ers, I am counting on
you!!!!

P.S. I realize BT has a 30 day return policy but not if I hack the sweat guard off.

Where are you wearing the IWB on you hip? And not to be offensive but are you heavy or small?

Me I am heavy, and just started wearing a Blade-Tech IWb with my Kahr MK40. It rides more to my back than the side of the hip, and the sweat guard doesn't tear into my spare tire, even when I wear the holster against bear skin. Of course, frequently I have a t-shirt between me and the holster, and an unbuttoned casual shirt to hide the gun. If I wear the holster too far forward, there is some discomfort fromt he sweat guard. As far as being wide, the Blade-Tech is much narrower than a similiar Galco Summer Special, which was my next choice of holsters. Yes, it is wider than an Uncle Mike's or those extra thin floppy leather IWB holsters, but my gun hasn't fallen out of the holster, i.e. Uncle Mike's and the entire holster with gun hasn't fallen off my belt, i.e. Galco thin leather with J-hook.

As far as the sweat gurad going in, as I have wore the Blade-tech it has better formed to my body and the gun. Good luck, I am sure more TFL'ers will be able to add their insight with you situation.
