Finally made up my mind and purchased the Stoeger Coach Gun in 20 ga. Shot a few rounds of game load through it last night. I really enjoy the the simplicity of the gun and that it is easy to handle.
Any opinion on the proper cleaning and breaking in of a new shotgun? When I have purchased a new rifle, I shoot a few rounds, then clean thoroughly, shoot a few more, clean, etc. Each time shoot a few more rounds during the break in period until I get up to around 10 shots. Would this be excessive for a smooth bore? WTH, it might be excessive for a rifle!

why make a simple thing hard? :)

the only 'breaking in' required on a Stoger is to just open and close it enough.,..while shooting it of course :) ....to make it easier to open and close.
Nuthin' to it,so to speak.
There are sites that explain how to replace the lever spring for easier opening, and how to modify the saftety to that it is stiill there but not automatic.I would NOT permanently bypass the safety,or advise anyone to do so,however.
