Just picked up an XDS .45.

I just picked up my dream conceal carry gun. It's a "new to me" gun. I haven't shot it yet (today I will), but I broke it down and thoroughly cleaned and lubed it. I usually don't buy a used gun, but couldn't beat the deal on it. The previous owner must not have known how to clean it because it was filthy, but the bore was clean as a whistle when I bought it - he just didn't break it down and clean everything else. Anyway, gonna order an N82tactical IWB holster and load Cutting Edge PHP ammo in it. Come income tax time, I'll put the powder precision trigger kit and a DPM Systems recoil spring system in it. Maybe the Powder river grips as well. Just excited to have it.

Just excited to have it.

I am happy for you! That is part of buying a new "Toy" (don't mention the word TOY to your better half), and it may be hard to match reality when shooting with your present anticipation, but have a go regardless:D

I inherited my dad's XD recently and it is a pleasure to shoot, and shooting well is it forte. I have not shot it much yet, but today I will be taking it to the range to do a shoot. You made a good choice...

PS: where are the photos?

springfeild xd 45 acp tactial

i carry a springfeild 45 acp tactical with a 5 inch barrel . it has 2 13 round mags. it is much better than a glock. i used to own 2 glocks. if you want a heavy gun with low capicty i'd suggest a sig sauer p220 in 45 acp. i used to own 2 of those also. i put hogue grips on mine. I carryed one of them.

Congrats! I have tried to like the XDs several times but it just never fit me right. The gun was very well built and I really liked the grip safety but it wasn't for me. The grip felt like Legos to me and the gun seemed heavy for what it was. I really wanted to like it. I have family members and friends that carry them daily and they love theirs. I'm sure you will enjoy your new gun.

Hit us up with a range report, please.

Congrats great gun.

I was nice enough to sell mine to a friend who's former LEO and didn't have a decent carry gun, but I still love the XDs.

I think you'll really like having 45acp firepower in such a compact pistol. Mine is in my carry rotation. After a year and a half it's been flawless.

Congrats. I like my XDS, but I don't love it. It's a great gun. 100% reliable, and shoots where I point it. To me though, it just doesn't feel as good as a Shield. I'm sure it's just me, because a whole lot of people seem to love them.

I felt the same way, husky. The Shield's ergos are great. I think the Shield is one of the best, if not the best, single stacks out there.

But the XDS does seem better made. i.e. fit and finish

Congrats on the purchase! I just got my XDS .45 a few months ago, and have loved it. I've put a couple hundred error free rounds through it so far. Very accurate little shooter. I tried the shield, and a few other single stacks but just took up with the XDS. No regrets!
