Just ordered a new revolver!

I just ordered a new BFR. I decided to go with the 460 S&W with the 10" barrel. I've always wanted a BFR after looking at a few at a gun show a couple years ago. Got my bonus from work the other day and decided I'd put it to good use on the BFR. I went with the 460 becuase I like the versitility of being able to shoot 45 Colt and 454 Casull as well. Also ordered up some bullets, reloading dies, etc. I'll post some pics when I get it.
 
Good choice, but I like my 500, an original one before there was a choice. It is in Alaska at #1 Son's house for bear protection duties. I use it when there, plus my 458 Lott left there if a heavy may be required. I use the heavy for protection of camp if many others are there. Seeing a bear is rare, but they are "Just in Case" guns. I owned a Freedom Arms.454 Casull and loved the caliber and gun, and 475 Linbaugh as well. I have shot the .460 and it is sweet.

Right away, I was thinking you got a 45-70, kind of a waste of time, money, and energy but awesome non the less. Good choice on the 460.:D
 
Yeah I'm pretty excited about the 460. I enjoy reloading almost as much as shooting. So the 460 will be a fun caliber(being I'll be reloading three different calibers). I just got some reloading supplies(brass(460 and 454), bullets, and lee autoprimer shell holder) in the mail that I ordered the other day. Wow, the 460 is a huge cartridge! I still have more goodies on the way. The gun will arrive tomorrow :D. I also ordered a case from Magnum Research, some lead bullets for 45 Colt loads, and reloading dies. Once the dies come I can get busy.
 
Very Jealous. Once I get into reloading it is def on my list of guns to pick up. Do I have any practical use for it? Nope, but watermellons and cantaloupes will fear me.

Yep. Just like a 44mag can shoot 44 special, 357 mag can shoot 38 spec., etc.

i was aware that the 454 casull could shoot the 45 colt, but did not know that about the 460.

that is a big ole piece of brass there.

I have 3 guns in 45 colt and have been wanting a 454 casull, now i am wanting one of these.
