Here is the letter that I will mail to HK:

Customer Service Dept.

RE: RA 24xxxx

Dear Sir/ Madam

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the service that I received from Heckler and Koch USA.
I have received my pistol back today and I am very pleased with the work that was done on it. The only thing that I expected to be done was the replacement of drop safety catch, but instead the pistol was given a complete checkup and numerous parts were replaced with new ones, even though they were not damaged.
The service was very prompt and it took less than a week for the pistol to come back.
The staff at Customer Service department was very professional and courteous.
Dealing with HK USA has been a very pleasant experience.

Sincerely,

:)

There ARE good gun service departments out there. I sent my Kel Tec P-32 back for repairs on a Sat. Came back Thurs by air.

Hk does have superb customer service, if you can get them on the phone. But once you talk to them or write them a letter, they bend over backwards to make you happy.

Talked to an officer from a very large agency. They had issued the P7M13. The only way they could get replacement parts was to buy new guns and strip them out for the needed parts. After a period of time another company made them a straight trade offer and they took them up on it, not missing the H&K guns at all.

Oktagon,

Glad to hear that you had good results.
Only production gun left w/the gas-delayed blowback system. I realize that the safety catch would not be affected one way or another by the barrel. However, do you think the wear of the barrel system is affected one way or the other compared to a link and pin 1911 or browning design tilt block lock up barrel/hood? How about recoil of hot plus p compared to other pistols w/same ammo?

Best regards,

EQ
