Some of you might recall the thread I posted about the Browning .22 pump rifle a while ago.

Well today I bought the one I saw at the local gun store. I haven't had a chance to use it yet at the range, but it should be a kick ass little rifle. I especially like the take down feature, that will be very useful.
It is 2nd hand, and needs a bit of work, but once I clean it up and maybe replace a few parts that shouldn't be a problem.

One question though the rifle is stamped Fabrique Nationale not Browning. Is that of any significance? Is the FN pump rifle any worse than the Browning rifle?

Depending on how old your gun is, FN in Belgium was always the maker of the Browning guns. The ones I bought in the '60s had the company address as St. Louis MO on them IIRC. The later ones said Ogden UT IIRC but the guns would be made in Belgium. Then they started making them and assembling them in Portugal and other places. The Belgian Brownings are the most sought after.
