Just got my call from HCI!

I just got my phone call from HCI asking me to contribute to the cause of "Stopping the murderous gun owners of America". Within 2 minutes of that statement I had thoroughly blessed the woman and informed her that guns save far more lives than they take and you are not more likely to be killed by your own gun in your house. She actually had little to say but I was on a roll and asked her if she had any kids. She said she had 2 and I related to her my experience of waking from an afternoon nap to find someone in my home. My particular encounter ended peacefully with a 15 year old 3 strikes and your out felon off the street. Although I did not shoot him, looking down the barrel of a 1911A1 put the fear of God in him and he ran only to be caught and imprisoned where he remains to this day for the 3 strike rule! I also related that the childs mother came to my house with a Sherriff's deputy demanding my arrest for pulling a gun on her child. The deputy who I had identified the convicted for only 30 minutes earlier promptly informed the woman that I coulda splattered her kids brains all over the wall and no judge on earth would have convicted me.
The caller from HCI had little else to say and I promptly ended the encounter. Somehow I don't think I'll hear from them again.

Proof of what being informed and vigilant versus calm, ignorant and thoughtless can achieve for you when confronted with their pack of lies!

If anyone else gets a call from them, try to keep them on the line to waste their money and inform them of the truth. This person obviously has no concept of what purpose guns serve in America, she sounded more like a sheep being led by a blind sheppherd.

Good work DocSpanky. I would have done it differently though and gotten the woman to talk to me for a long time just to rack up their phone bill. Then I would have dropped the bomb and told them who I am and what I do.

Guess I won't see you for chow at Rosie's place. I'm bringing my slop bucket and feed bag for her.

All right, now I'm pissed. I tried to go to the HCI website to sign up for the dinner, and got this other site instead. This guy set up a fake site to mimic HCI only with PRO-GUN rhetoric! What is the world coming to . . . . .

:D

Gwinny,

"This guy" you refer to is TFL's own EL JEFE! :D

He and his wife work together for our RKBA. As impressive as his site is, it's only *part* of his battle to restore the Second Amendment.

He has been my "honorable opponent" ( ;) )in many Republican v. Libertarian debates! (Just goes to show the guy isn't quite perfect! :D )

Either you believe in the Second Amendment or you don't.
Stick it to 'em! RKBA!

Several years ago, AT&T called, asking us to switch our long distance service back to them. It happened to be right after I had been informed about AT&T's corporate policies regarding homosexuals--benefits for live-ins, internal company gay groups, 'sensitivity-training,' etc. I vehemently disagreed with their policy. Kept this poor guy on the phone for at least 20 minutes! By the time I was running out of steam somewhat, he seemed to begin thinking a bit. He had been unaware of the information I presented.

Now, with so many telemarketing firms out there, I honestly wonder who does their own calling. But whether an actual HCI person, or a Matrix Marketing person, yes we should talk to 'em.

Certainly, talk to anyone who calls. You may need to talk s l o w l y and use short words, but talk!

Good for you, DOCSpanky! I would like to know how they got your number. Did you sign up for their newsletter or something?

...“ They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” --Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759.

Whereas, to preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them; nor does it follow from this, that all promiscuously must go into actual service on every occasion. The mind that aims at a select militia, must be influenced by a truly anti-republican principle; and when we see many men disposed to practice upon it, whenever they can prevail, no wonder true republicans are for carefully guarding against it.
