Well I really got back Tues., but this is the first time I've been able to get on the computer. Got the first load of stuff to Spring in one peice. I got pulled by a Trooper in Alabama for speeding through a construction zone, completely lack of attention. He was very professional and courteous. Written warning only. Before he left me I asked him if he was "saved". He replied in a very strong South Alabama drawl, "Sir, you aint gonna find an Alabama State Trooper that aint been born again, have a nice day, and watch the speed". The rest of the trip was uneventful. My sister in law had a baby girl after I got there, no complications, praise the Lord. Houston is a happening town. Got a new hat and a pair of ropers at Cavenders while there. I will be bringing the wife and kids and dogs and the last load of stuff either Fri. or Sat morning, we are closing on my old house Fri. I see some good topics on the forum and can't wait to get back in the mix, but we are still packing and doing last minute things. Please pray for the safety of my family during our trip. Pray for me to find a good job. Well friends I'll talk soon.
God's grace, Arrell.

Well, welcome to Texas. :)

Don't know if you ever wore boots afore so here's a little tip....take some tape and run a cover over the tops of the boots-the part that is under yer jeans [you ARE gonna wear jeans, right?] Just fold the tape lengthwise over the tops-keeps it from rubbin you a raw circle round your laig.... ;)

Just wear boot socks and forget the tape. And wear the right kind of jeans, Wrangler boot jeans!

The NRA is our shield, the GOA will be our sword.

Arrell, welcome to Texas!! You be careful bringing that family down here too. Another thing in case you didn't know, the pant legs go OUTSIDE the boots. Don't tuck them in. You will hear, 'You ain't from around here are ya?' if you do. Enjoy Spring, cute little town with some shops. The gun show is held in the old mall and that is where the Goodyear blimp hanger was. Julia Roberts use to hang out in Tomball when whe was married to Lyle Lovett too so keep your eyes open.

For no reason known to me, central Texas ranchers wear their pants (jeans or khakis) outside their boots. In far west Texas, it's more common to see working cowmen with their jeans tucked inside. Of course, these latter are from serious, horseback ranches...

I know one ranch of some 40 sections, where roundup takes about ten guys on horseback--and one laptop...

Tape, socks - what are ya'll talking about?

If you tuck your Wranglers inside your boot it will tend to slow down your ankle holster draw a good 15 to 20 seconds. With the Wranglers outside the boot a well trained professional can complete a draw in under 45 seconds. I've never broken a minute myself but I wear off the the shelf stuff.

RKBA!

If you wear your jeans inside your boots it lets cows**t drop in, don't y'all know nothing?
