Well, as some of you know i was freaking out over my CPL class today. Not so much about my abilities just the not knowing what to expect was freaking me out a bit.

Got there and it was really laid back. watched a few movies and did some book work(just followed along with some slides and answered questions as they were explained on the slides) Then we went to the range. This is where i got nervous :) but it got a little intense when a guy (loudmouth know it all) decided to rapid fire during the first drill(shoot 3 shots with a pause in between each shot) He was warned by the range master and the Officer giving this portion of the class.

I did pretty well i hit a 2 inch pattern and released my mag checked chamber and let the office inspect my weapon as directed. Then it was time to go to the 15 yd station and the loud mouth decided to take off his safety (this was during strong hand fire drill) he was cocky and instead of aiming releasing safety then fire. he took off his safety swung his arm (like in a movie) left to right fast and the gun went off and struck the divider dead center. No one was hurt. His fire arm was taken away clip dropped and the officer said men take 10!!! the officer you could hear yelling at him and he was escorted to his car.

LOOONNNGGG story short i past and i had the second best grouping :) :) :D

15 yard station? We did all our 'qualifications' at 7 yards when I took the class two years ago.

If you ever venture up this way, give me a PM and we'll head out to Knob Creek. I live 10 miles from the range.

i dont know why we did the 15 yd station? maybe because it had 6 bays instead of the 2 7yd bays. That would be cool to do a little shooting some where else. I will take you up on that invite some day soon thanks

I completed my class a few weeks ago. I too was a little concerned about what the test covered and the range protion.

But basically if you can breathe on your own and have brain activity beyond brain stem, any one can pass the test.

thanks standing wolf. i think i slept maybe 3 hours the night before due to my nervousness. but that soon went away after i realized everyone else was just as nervous as i was.
