I just got it a few weeks ago. Its a post ban. I was wondering whats legal flash suppressor, muzzlebrake? Also, do they make longer slings, the thing hangs right at chest level, is that normal? I will be reloading and have found some deals on brass there. Any suggestions???????

Good choice! I have had mine for a year now with about 1500rds through it without a hiccup.

Suggestions: Flash suppressors are illegal on postbans so if you have to add something on the end try a wilson combat muzzle brake or AK74, Y-comp or any other muzzle brake. Check out AR15.com for info on that.

Buy lots of mags as there are fewer of them (albeit still plentiful) and the price is going up and there could be a state or national ban headed your way. I live in Kali so it is a little tough to purchase 20 & 30rd mags to say the least. Look for USGI mags, stay away from Cooper, and Thermolds work great and Orlites are good too, depending on rifle brand.

You can find slings all over the place, maybe try http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ctd/default.asp

Have fun and did I mention to buy mag.

Forget the muzzlebrake - most people I talk to (that have a brake) claim it helps very little with .223, and is noisy as he!!.

Better ways to spend your money would be good quality 20 and 30 round mag's (see http://www.ar15.com for good recommendations) - these are expensive. KY Imports has been helpful in the past for mag's (see http://www.kyimports.com/ ).

A sling option you might want to consider is the Giles sling - check out The Wildnerness (see http://www.thewilderness.com ). Very handy sling.

Depending on your intended use, Trijicon Reflex and ACOG / Compact ACOG optical sights are expensive, but helpful (see http://www.trijicon-inc.com ).

And, buy ammunition as well. PMC and S&B seem fine for many purposes, but you'll get a lot of discussion on ammo. Do a search re: .223 on TFL, and you'll be able to judge the arguments.

Spare parts - Bushmaster has a small kit for the most likely to fail. And, you can buy one of their pistol grips that have room for storage.

Finally, take at least a weekend Tactical Carbine course in your area. Check with local ranges / trainers.

Good luck, and have fun with your new rifle. Regards from AZ

Hey George, do you ever put your weapons away dirty after a range trip? Aren't you working on the worlds best plasma/phaser rifle or something?

I want one of those BM's with the flat top and completely round heatshields with a 20" barrel. I want a new set of forged classic weighted irons 2-9. I want a 9 speed upgrade (Sram and Raceface) upgrade to my mountain bike and a 10 sp campy upgrade to my road bike, no screw it; I want a Colnago C-40 Campy road bike ($5000+). Where do I start?

I recently bought a Bushmaster flat-top with a 20" barrel.

As for a handload for it try 26.5 grains of IMR 4320 over a Hornady SX 55 grain soft point with a Fereral GM 205m primer. I think you will like it. 1/4 MOA in my Panther.

Now buys lots of mags. I had a about six places on the net that i could buy highcap mags for cheap and they have all run out in the past few months. Also the spare parts kit is a good choice just in case for those supposed high breakage parts.
