Just bought ...

After securing access to a 500 yard range with no ballistic restrictions I purchased the following:

Savage 110, 338 Lapua, HS Precision stock, 26 inch fluted barrel with muzzle break, 5 round detachable mag, oversized bolt handle, adjustable trigger, scope rail attached.

This IS NOT the version that looks like an AR knockoff, it's a true stick, no BS hanging off it adding weight a true rifle.

Now a scope to reach out to 1000 yards if need be, practice at 500...

Thats a neat gun, but out of curiosity, why is it that when people send stuff from an Ipad they always putt "sent from my iPad"? I'm gonna start saying "sent from my Mac desktop (with internet)"

That's an auto-signature that the mobile device adds in. My iTouch does that to emails I send.

You can edit it out in your settings (I think) but most people don't bother (myself included).

Yes it's set up that way from the factory I just never bothered to change it but it can be changed as the other gentleman stated in the settings section.

That sounds like a nice Savage. 500 yds and a 338 Lapua.....hopefully you'll get a chance to try it @ 3x that distance after you get some loads worked up for it. Good luck with your new best friend!

500 yrds for a .338 will be like driving a Ferrari with only the first 2 gears!

It's just getting warmed up at 500 yards. I have mine zeroed at 600 yards.

For right now until I get $$$ for a decent LR scope I have a Leupold Vari xIII 6 25 50 as I'm not going out any farther than 500 yards for now... As for the $905 that was for the rifle

Fine rifle and a good long-range scope too. 25x on a 50mm objective?
Hell, we do 1,000 yds. with IRON sights! Mine are 0-power.

thats not a bad price for the gun you got do you mind if i ask where you bought it. I've been looking for a 6.5 creedmoor in the long range hunter, but cant find one around locally if my local store ever gets one it well be right around $700 bucks
