I just left the gunstore where I went in looking for a snubbie revolver.
I purchased a new Taurus 85 Lightweight for $299.
However, when I got back to work and examined the revolver more closely, I noticed that there was many deep scratches along the frame slide (I don't know what it is called, but it is where the pin in the center of the cylinder first comes into contact with the frame and slides in from there) just slightly below where the pin in the center of the cylinder hits the frame.
I think these deep scratches are from the cylinder wobbling slightly when it is open and when the cylinder is closed the cylinder lugs scratch the frame slide.
I hope this explanation makes sense.
I'm definitely not one to complain, and so I really don't want to have to go back to the gunstore at all and do that. I wouldn't mind going back and asking if they can fix the wobble in the cylinder if that is not normal and perhaps grind/buff out the deep scratches in the frame.
What do you suggest I do? Would it be reasonable for a gunstore to give a store credit with this type of problem? Would Taurus fix the problem for free if the gunstore does not?
