I just bought a SW99 (.40Cal) and love it! It is one of the smoothest shooting guns I have ever owned. The first time I shot the SW99 I was able to produce a tighter shot group than I have with any other gun I've owned. I have only put 50 rounds through it so far, but it has functioned flawlessly.

The SW99 has many innovative features that are new on this gun. This is definitely a totally new gun design for S&W. I highly recommend it to anyone if you are looking for a new .40Cal that is lightweight and an accurate shooter!

Yep, got mine last year Joe, and I gotta agree with you entirely. You will love it.

That is because it is NOT an original Smith&Wesson design. The design came from Walther, and this fine gun is made by S&W under license. The original gun is the Walther P99. You should have gotten the real thing!!!!

[/quote]Sorry I don't feel the same way about the Walther. I have an earlier P99 and the trigger is terrible.Hangs up-won't fire when in rearmost position-etc. etc. etc. I'm waiting for the new model due out soon so I can trade this one.The P99 fits great in my hand,if it would only work.

Jankord, I would rather have the Smith & Wesson than the Walther, their service is absolutely the best in the industry. You definitely made the right choice.

Sorry Guys,
My Walther is a GEM. :) Keep your Smiths. I like my Walther, THE ORIGINAL.

Hey Denfoote - Germans do NOT grant licenses to anybody who can't drive.

I decided to get the SW99 because I liked it better than the Walther. I tried them both and liked the feel of the SW99 in my hand better than the Walther. I also liked the cosmetic differences of the SW99 better.

Everyone has their own favorite... I'm just saying that the SW99 is one hell of a gun too! For those that own the P99 and put down the SW99 take a look at some comparisons on this web site: http://home.att.net/~sw99/shooting.html

Not too bad!

Joe
