Just bought a Lanber...

...through Gunbroker. Its a NIB 12 ga Model 2097 Sporting Clays, 28" bbl. Got it for $380 which strikes me as a reasonable price. I've always wanted a O/U ever since I was shooting skeet with my old 1100 on the University of Illinois Trap and Skeet team back in the 80's. I borrowed a few Citori's, Berettas and Red Labels, shot a few rounds with them and have drooled ever since. Never had a chance to "llive" with one day in and out to see if we get along.

Problem is, the finances don't allow one of those fine weapons just yet (after the kids are out of the house?). So I decided to try a reasonably inexpensive experiment with the Lanber...mostly driven by the positive comments on this board.

I'll let you know how our first date goes -- probably in January.

So you did it... for only 380$! I am so jealous now.... The prices over here for 2097s are (approx) 850$. I have seen prices in England and they (2097s) cost approx 800$. And this a european firearm! What a steal...
You are so lucky that you have such a huge market. Shoot well and post a review if you like

Stay Safe ;)

i have had nothing but good reports?

Can anybody evaluate the Lanber? Obviously, it's not a Citori, but just how good is it? Is it a $300 gun or is it really better than its price?

The price seems really good. Maybe too good...

Inquiring minds and all that...

Thanks!

CDNN is not going to be carrying the Lanbers after their current stock runs out. Not sure why. So I guess Lnabers are actually going to be harder to find now, than they were before, not sure wether this will drive the price up, or down. Also the last I heard, the only place to have them serviced in the US was a place in Michigan.

keep[ us posted. ive thought about getting one, is that the lowest price you've seen? how much is your ffl charging to transfer/reg the gun?
