Just bought a Glock 30

I just bought a Glock 30. I had a Taurus PT140 on layaway but I broke down and took it off layaway and got the Glock instead. Oh course it cost a bit more, but I think its worth it. I'm planning to use it as my carry gun. Does anybody have any suggestions regarding a holster. I'm pressently using my old Triple-K skeleton holster, but it doesn't fit it as well as I'd like.

I going to use 230-grain Federal Hydra-shok for personal defense.

I like Sidearmor kydex IWB holsters for the occasions that I carry my Glocks IWB.

FWIW, though, I usually prefer a paddle holster instead of IWB as paddle holster carry is more comfortable for my fat a$$.

I just got a G-Code kydex paddle for my G22/31 and one for my G19/32/23 and will soon get one for my G30 and maybe G21. I love the design of the G-Code. It has the best paddle design I've seen on a Kydex holster and the fit of the holster is great. Blows my Fobus out of the competition! If you're interested in a paddle holster I'd recommend checking out G-Code. Ther website is here:

I checked them out mainly because Sidearmor didn't offer a paddle unit but I now think that G-Code paddle design would be hard for even Sidearmor to beat. It's the most stable paddle holster I've tried and it really holds close to my body, unlike other paddles I've tried.

As for belt slide holsters for OWB carry, I love the Kramer horsehide belt slide that I have for my CZ 75B and like a couple of the Safariland models for my Glocks. I don't carry OWB belt slide often enough to invest heavily in this type holster though, so I'm sure that someone else could be of more help in this category than I am. Usually, if I'm not wearing a paddle holster or carrying a Sidearmor IWB, I'm carrying a full tilt Accumold duty rig from Bianchi. I somehow doubt you're looking for that type carry rig though. :)

By the way, Federal Hydrashok 230gr is a great load for the G30. Shoots great in mine, anyway.:)

I have a 30 and trust me on this: you will LOVE it. It is much better then the taurus, MUCH better.

Yep, you did good, the 30 is a great piece.

My only complaint is its kind o' thick, and feels like I have stuck a brick in my pants when I tote it.

But 10 rnds of tack driving 45 ACP hardball more than makes up for that.

Dumping the Taurus for the G30 was the smart thing to do IMO. I bought a G30 a couple months ago and it has taken over concealed carry duty for me. With Pearce mag extenders, it fit's my hands as well as my 19 and 23 do, accuracy is superb and perceived recoil/muzzle flip is desceptively mild for such a light weapon. For holsters, I prefer Kydex and so far Comp-Tac's "Undercover" has worked out rather well for me. Gregg's prices are reasonable and he had the holster in my hands within a week of ordering.

For my G30 and my G23 I use Nylon holster with a reversable metal clip for my IWB and SOB. Cheap, easy, Comfortable, Fast presentation and reholstering and conceals well. I also have a Galco Royal Guard but it collects dust b/c it snags during presentation but that should be fixed here shortly. :D

For standard OWB carry I have a Fobus for my G30 and my G23. Excellent holster for only $20.

I also have a Galco Fletch for my G30. Very nice holster, good retention (thumb break), quick draw. Only problem is its hard to conceal well so it has become my winter holster.
