Just bought a CZ75B. Have questions....

I just picked up a brand-new CZ75B 9mm. I have a few questions-

I got the black polymer version with plastic grips, night sights and two factory 15 round mags for $350. Was this a good price?

Now that I have it, I'd like to get the trigger tuned. Who are some good CZ gunsmiths out there?

Is this pistol strong enough to handle the 9mm blacktip subgun ammo?

Thanks-
BB

Hello. In my opinion, you did good in your purchase if the magazines are factory CZ magazines. If you want to shoot the hotter rounds, the CZ will handle it in my experience, but I do routinely add a Wolff conventional 18lb recoil spring. In my guns, all but one works fine when so equipped with standard velocity ammo, and it doesn't hang up but about 2% of the time. If adding the heavier spring causes you problems with std pressure rounds, just use the heavy spring when shooting Plus P or the hot stuff you mention. I cannot recommend a 'smith who specializes in the wonderful pistols. Best.

If those are factory prebans than you got a good price. To give you an idea, polymer finish, one preban and one postban, with night sights CZ75B are going for $349.

Your best bet is to get it tuned by www.cz-usa.com Their head gunsmith is one of the most eperienced CZ men in the country. I believe they charge $45 for the action job. You might want to call ahead to make sure. I've also heard that Keith Whaley and Joseph Dlask both do good work on CZs. Dlask worked for CZ in the Czech Republic before moving to the US. Sorry I don't have their contact information.

So many pistols, so little money.
