Just announced ~ Ruger SR1911 9MM

With an MSRP of $979... meh.

I have been toying with the idea of buying an entry level 9mm 1911, but not at 1K. I am looking for a higher quality than Rock Island. If its dealer cost is less than Springfield's equivalent model, I might be interested.

Although it does come with a swaged link pin... don't want unswaged.

Ruger MSRPs tend to be high compared to street prices; my 45 CMD lists for $939 I think but I found it for $599 and I've seen them frequently for 620-650. Add a few $$ for the Al framed model but I doubt you'll be paying what's listed on the website.

Nice. I just got a CZ P-09 and put the pro package in it. It's def better than stock, but not 1911 nice.

A 9mm 1911 is on my radar.

This would be a nice addition to my CCW rotation. I will have to wait and see what prices are though. Looks nice though and I love my Springer 9mm and would like a light weight option. We will see....

I have a 1911 and like it somewhat, but it's not my favorite.

Likewise, I don't understand the allure of a 9mm 1911 when there are plenty of options in 9mm that are lighter and have better capacity.

Just my opinion. Flame away.

I have the steel-framed SR1911 Commander and I like it a lot, it's a nice shooter. As long as this aluminum-framed 9mm SR1911 Commander has a ramped barrel, I think this new one should be a winner!
