Fud, if you click on the link above the articles you will find other "clubs" on guns a couple are almost as stupid as this one. I started to post but it was so "dammed" SCHTOOPID (a distinctly southern phrase meaning "dumber than dirt") I couldn't bring myself to sign in. If I did I'd say something like "Dear Founder, HOW YOU GO, YOU NEED TO LERN ENGLIS IT BE GOOD,THEN YOU KAN KAWMUNEKATE" PEOPLES ARE ALSO BAD TO HAVE IN HOUSE. PEOPLE BAD, MACHINES GOOD, BUY MACHINE, MACHINE DO GOOD, PEOPLE DO BAD!" Hal, let me in Hal.......... don't waste your time, we're talking about 43 responses and most are flaming this STOOPID person!
You're right of course. It CAN BE VERY unsafe to leave a gun in the house. The safest place for a typical handgun is *on your person* concealed away in a nice secure holster. 
Put the rest of your collection in a safe or lockbox and carry one, that way you'll always be prepared. Left in the house, they could be stolen in a burglery, melted down in a fire, etc...
